Monday May 8th, 2006,
witnessed the opening of Libya Build's
3rd edition at Tripoli International
Fairgrounds, attended by a large number
of governmental officials, Ambassadors
and commercial attachés to Libya, Libyan
businessmen and directors of private and
public companies in Libya.
The event was inaugurated by Mr Taher
Sarkez, the Under Secretary for the
General People's Committee for Economy,
Trade and Investment (Ministry of
Economy).
Libya Build 2006 hosted 120 participants
comprising of local companies who act as
agents to 40 international companies, in
addition to international companies from
24 countries in Europe, America, Asia
and the Middle East. The event occupied
3000 square meters, with 6 pavilions
which gathered the largest brand names
of heavy machinery and equipment in the
world, including John Deree, Terex and
Hyundai.
The number of visitors compared to last
year was up 20% with a total of 5000
trade and professional individuals
within three days.
Regarding the after show reports
received by participating companies,
many had made successful contacts, sold
a large number of industrial machinery
and one company even signed a contract
with a local agent to build a four star
hotel in Libya starting 2006.
Our highly professional team have
started preparations for The 4th
International Building & Construction
Exhibition(Libya Build 2007). We have
already received confirmations from
European companies requiring double the
space they occupied this year for the
upcoming event.
